Gloria Badillo Hill

A passionate champion of gifted people and new ideas, Gloria's Austin-centered efforts have included a student food co-op, a legal research service, a holistic health association, an international protocol alliance, numerous emerging technology ventures, and diverse online communities. She has also been an artist, singer, actress, language instructor, and mother to two energetic and outside-the-box children--one here and here; the other here and racing through RealTime with four of her own.

Gloria has a B.A. in Romance Languages from the University of Texas at Austin, where she subsequently pursued graduate studies in French Literature and professional training in start-up management (IC2), international marketing (CIBER), and community informatics (LBJ). Her recent offline projects included co-founding the South Austin Museum of Popular Culture
(2004-2006) and co-producing Masquerade à GoGo (2005) and the 11/11 Party (2006 and 2007), and Oat Willie's 40th Birthday Celebration (2008).

Her alter ego, The Austin Muse, provides inspiration, startup/event management, and online services for the cultural arts community. Besides projects for clients listed on her Facebook page, she hosts a free community resource called SimplyAustin for Central Texans "seeking to live well on less and, on occasion, survive while running on empty."
